Skill Levels

The Jeff Symmonds golf school is unique because we emphasize a practical and relevant teaching curriculum. We conduct each curriculum based on your individual golf abilities and goals. Our class sizes are very small and we always incorporate on-course instruction into each full day of teaching as a practical complement to our work on fundamentals and mechanics. Below is a synopsis of what you can expect from our school program based on your current skill level:

Beginner/ novice (30+ handicap)
Recommended Program: 1 or 2 days.

Beginners and high handicappers will participate in a busy, informative day that focuses on the heart of the golf swing. Learn the proper grip, stance, posture and aim. In other words, The Foundation. You will develop and understand ball flight, how to get the golf ball airborne much easier, and get introduced to hitting tee-shots with a metal wood. Your instructor will guide you through a 9-hole playing lesson that focuses on course management, rules, pace of play and applying your practice swing thoughts to the real golf course.

INTERMEDIATE (19-29+ handicap)
Recommended Program: 2 or 3 days.

Ideal for 90’s to 100+ scorers, this program will help you obtain a complete understanding of The Foundation through use of mirrors, video and training devices. Cut 4 to 6 strokes off your round by becoming more proficient at chipping, pitching, and putting. Major emphasis on hitting the driver and fairway woods. Your instructor will lead you through a 9-hole playing lesson (daily) that will highlight tee-shots, approach shots from variable distances, and well rounded short game ideas.

ADVANCED (18 OR LOWER handicap)
Recommended Program: 2 or 3 days.

The best program for golfers who’s handicap is below 18 and can break 90 on a regular basis, we will focus on how to change your ball flight for more desirable results through use of video, mirrors and training aids. Understanding methods to help you hit the ball farther and straighter. How to get your golf swing “On Plane and Returning Down a Better Path”. Fine tuning your short game and developing feel around the greens. How to hit a proper bunker shot.
